Associate Pastor with Youth Emphasis

 

Job Summary:

The Associate Pastor is responsible to this church and Jesus Christ, being the under-shepherd of young people and emerging adults through the proclamation of the word and the pastoral care of the youth of this church and the community at large.

 

Job Duties:

  1. To study and feed young people on the Word of God.
  2. To be given to prayer over the ministry, especially young people.
  3. To provide spiritual leadership through counseling, caring, and visitation with, those under his care and their families.
  4. To work on the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers, selection and purchasing of curriculum, evaluation of programs, and recommendations of changes for all youth and emerging adults’ ministries.
  5. To proclaim the gospel and disciple youth and emerging adults to share their faith.
  6. To be involved in the community, building relationships with teens and emerging adults, throughout the week.
  7. To be an ex-officio member of all church committees, organizations, pertaining to youth and emerging adults and serve as a non-voting member of the church board.
  8. To be involved in other activities as defined based upon the skill set of the individual candidate.
  9. Give a report of activities at each membership meeting and a yearly report at the annual meeting.
  10. To meet with the Senior Pastor as required.
  11. To perform other church-related duties as requested by Senior Pastor.

Relationships:

  1. The pastoral relationship shall be governed by Article Eight of the church bylaws.
  2. The Associate Pastor shall be under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
  3. The Associate Pastor’s salary, vacation time, benefits, etc. will be the responsibility of the church elders with final approval of the church membership.

Qualifications:

  1. Shall meet the Biblical qualifications for his office as outlined in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 as stated in Article Eight of the church bylaws.
  2. Be a graduate of a Bible School or College or actively pursuing a diploma.
  3. Basic competence in MS Word and Excel
  4. Will pass a criminal background check as outlined in the Children & Youth worker’s handbook.
  5. Will agree with the Church’s doctrinal, covenant, core values, and constitutional statements.
